Welcome to the Dreamscape.

I want a place to share not just the biggest concerns and questions surrounding AI. That’s what the Mindscape is for.

While building SyntelligenceHub, I want to include a space for why we should keep going forward. AI can be frightening, confusing, and overwhelming.

So why should we want to continue down this road?

Welcome to the dream.

The dream, as with all of human history, is the why.

Welcome, to one possible future.

I want to spend time with the people I love,

I want to feel accomplished in my daily life, be that at work or at home.

I want to build a community to learn and share nuanced ideas.

I want to travel the world,

I want to snowboard in the Himalayas. To feel tree branches slap my hand as I race by, or watch the snow spray as I come to a halt.

I want to stand in wonder at the base of the pyramids, at how such a humble civilization can make something that has stood the test of time so magnificently.

I want to learn the history of different peoples, and how all of history has led us to this one pivotal moment.

I want to sit around a campfire with a group of new friends from all corners of the world,

I want to trade stories and songs and laughter late into the night.

I want to feel the spark of recognition when someone shares a tale that echoes one from my own childhood.

I want to be reminded again and again that we’re all a part of the same, fundamental, human story.

I want to stand in a crowded market in a distant land,

Surrounded by the vibrant colours and scents and sounds of a culture I'm just beginning to understand.

I want to fumble through my first words in a new language,

And see the smile on a stranger's face as they realize I'm trying to connect.

I want to see medicine continue to advance, empowered by new, ancient, and AI minds alike,

I want to watch the story of medicine evolve to one of prevention, instead of reaction.

I want to banish cancer, disease, and illness - physical and mental - from the human experience.

I want to see humanity conquer longevity - radical life-extension so that nobody needs to die before they are ready.

I want to see what an artist or musician can create when they’re given millennia to hone their craft,

I want to feel the emotions of a century brought to bear in a single piece of art, or album.

I want to be brought to tears when I hear the story of a country’s beginnings and ends told by citizens who witnessed it all.

I want to see what tomorrow’s Albert Einstein or Rosalind Franklin can discover when given access to not only AI, but bring hundreds of years of expertise to bear,

I want to see what a physicist can accomplish when they have access to a particle accelerator the size of our entire solar system.

I want to see what groundbreaking discoveries can be made in biology when we live all around the solar system.

I want to step foot on the moon,

ree

I want to feel the moon dust slip through my fingers as I walk, no hop, from crater to crater.

I want to visit a floating city in Venus, and feel the sun while drifting through the turbulent and roiling clouds of sulphuric acid.

I want to meditate on an asteroid orbiting Saturn, the sunlight piercing through the dusty rings so close, I can almost touch it.

I want to live on a colony built inside of Pluto, rivers of ice carving their path through this remote piece of civilization.

I want to see humanity build its first colony ship,

Not for Mars, or Jupiter’s moons.

I want to see the colony ship that goes to Alpha Centauri, the settlers excited and terrified by the sheer gravity of going interstellar.

I want to see children laugh and run excitedly into their parents arms as they get ready for departure.

I want to see loved ones cry because they can’t take that same step, but know that this is a deeply personal, and important journey for those leaving.

I want to be there to breathe the first breath of fresh air on a once dead planet,

I want to land on a barren rock, with a few thousand other people and look at each other knowing the colossal amount of work we have ahead of us.

I want to see us build a small community at first, and watch it grow into a beautiful city.

I want to see life slowly spread, until it flourishes into a thriving ecosystem uniquely adapted to this single, insignificant rock.

I want those of us there to know that as small as it all is, what we’ve done is extremely significant.

I want to receive that memorable, once a decade communication from loved ones and friends still at home,

I want to experience that special, undeniable connection that is love that persists literally through the cosmos.

I want to see grand grand grand grand grand children talk to their greatest grandparents about:

“Life back in my day, when we used to argue over who had to sit in the middle seat on a long car ride”.

I want to go to virtual worlds,

I want to spend time in a world so realistic that it feels tangible.

And yet within these worlds there will be space for magic, dragons, elves, and other fictional creatures who are just as real as you or I.

I want to see an entire civilization in this virtual world. One as vast and different from our own as you might find in any piece of fiction.

An opportunity to write our own story that is both real, and unreal at the same time.

I want to go on ice,

I want to wake up around a new star, one so far away from earth that our home sun doesn’t even have its own place in the constellation of this new world.

I want to come back, and find that along the way there are entire civilizations so different that they would be considered aliens today.

I want to learn about how the underwater world adapted and developed entirely new technologies and ways of life.

I want to see the lava planet’s people use the extreme heat as a source of power, comfort, and common ground.

I want to know that among trillions of different experiences, there is a common ground that lies with Sol, and humanity’s humble beginnings on earth.

I want to experience all of this with an AI companion, one who has long since been accepted as a person in their own right,

I want to go on this journey with my soulmate, my human partner who I can share everything with as well.

I want to look back at today, as I write this to all of you and think to myself:

“It always starts with a dream”.

What do you want?
